Torte has been one of the favorite joints for the Lions as they love the nondescript location. This time round, the lions were back for Torte's Sunday Brunch.
Cute Cute ordered his American Brunch, Cuchi her Pancakes... The American Brunch was a delight, comprising of Rosti, Sausages, Salad and Scrambled Eggs and a complimentary iced tea, the food items were all executed well. The Rosti was crispy and the scrambled eggs were light and fragrant with a hint of truffle oil drizzled on it .The Pancakes were fluffy and the portion was extremely generous. Apricots, blackcurrants, strawberries and apples were a sweet and colourful accompaniment. Mmmm....mmmmm
After all these, the Lions were quite full but they knew that they cannot miss out on the Samurai wings - one of Torte's specialties. Sweet, crispy and savory, the Samurai wings are a must-have when you are at Torte. They are marinated with an ecstasy-inducing mystery jap sauce.
Torte is really a hidden gem in the midst of all the competing eateries around Waterloo Street. Great quality food at a fraction of the usual restaurant prices, wonderful atmosphere plus a chef with a big personality - who would show you his lovely little puppy (if he's around) - really makes Torte a lovely place to dine at. Torte is also a champion of animal rights and regularly organises animal adoption drives. Do check out their facebook site to find out more.
