Hey folks, Espressolab now has a spanking new sister outlet at China Square. Yup, great news for the frazzled office crowd in the Raffles Place area in need of great java to soothe nerves. Settle here for a breather. This joint's a lot larger than the cosy Bali Lane sister cafe and has a food menu as well. But that doesn't mean they compromise on the quality of coffee here. With their signature house blend of beans roasted across the causeway, you can expect their cup of java delivered with the usual mild acidity accompanied by delightful notes of cocoa, nuts and fruits. And of course the house blend is complemented by a list of single origin beans for the discerning connoisseur.

This joint is opened by a Penangnite so yes, the star food item here, on top
of coffee, is the famous Penang White Curry Mee. Remember the craze
surrounding MyKuali's Penang White Curry Instant Noodles? Yes, the one
where retailers were jacking up prices as homesick Penangnites swept stores
empty of those instant noodle packs. You can now get a taste of it here at
the Espressolab joint in China Square. No kidding. |
|
This particular corner seat is reserved for audiophiles
who want front row seats to the cafe music spinning
above their heads. |
|
Cosy interior with easy-on-the-eyes grey walls and warm wood accents. |
|
Love the division of space here with a line of bar stools near the counter. |
|
Yup, you get the Penang White Curry Instant Noodles
cooked here for you at $5.80 with some added ingredients. |
|
Iced Long Black to combat the sweltering heat outside. |
|
A strong medium-bodied latte. |
|
The curry broth was surprisingly flavourful and spicy with a nice body.
Some mini frozen prawns are thrown in alongside an egg.
Ok lah, not too shabby a substitute for the real deal. |
