Hilltop Dining at Spuds & Apron

Wheeew! The Lion City is currently experiencing a dry spell and the lions are praying for it to break with a cool shower of rain. Save the Chaota plants indeed! Thankfully the lion was still able to enjoy a panoramic view of cascading greenery at the top of Mount Faber as he and his team mates had a business luncheon at Spuds & Apron.

View through glass window.
Since it was midday, it was better to sit indoors. We hear that this place is
popular during the cool evenings with a view to eat for.
Interior.
Semi alfresco area.
Head out into the open where you can dine under the stars by a koi pond in the
evenings. Have a kodak moment by the backdrop with psychedelic pop art colours.
A live band plays at night during the weekends at the covered stage.
Cable car view from indoors.
Crispy Pork Belly ($26):
Sous Vide Pork Belly served with a side of Pineapple Pickles.
Check out the crackling skin. Three huge slabs of tender porcine goodness.
Barbecued Baby Back Ribs ($25): Skip this straightforward chargrilled slab
for other more interesting items on the menu like the char siew lamb rack.
Chili Crab in a Tux ($12) was a hit at the table. Generous dollop of crab meat.
Linguine Al Funghi ($18) for sharing.
The lion's main of Tobiko crusted Alaskan Cod Fillet ($28)
with aged ponzu sauce and green tea soba was an interesting dish with
the clean flavours of cod balanced by the creamy tobiko sauce at the top.
Another great appetiser to order - Crispy White Bait Salad ($12).
The specially concocted yuzu wasabi dressing was refreshingly tangy
and zingy.
Private Dining at the top for an intimate group of 70 pax.
A designated Hugging Corner. LOL.
Lovebirds might like to Tie a Love Bell here.
Floral arch with an ancient bell from a ship.

The lion did not get the chance to try the desserts that day like the signature Chempedek Bread and Butter Pudding as the team had a birthday celebration and there was enough cake for everyone. He will be back with the lioness for a quiet evening here again. For those on a budget, Spuds & Apron has a repertoire of reasonably priced lunchtime mains (hovering around $10) that consists of local delights like Chicken Curry, Singapore Laksa and Hokkien Mee.
