Cupplets Cafe + Bakery

The team at work got the birthday lion a good ole fashioned chocolate fudge cake from the legendary Lana Cake Shop:

Savouring the remaining moist slices at home... ...

Speaking of old-fashioned cakes, you know, those that take you back to a memory or place, the lion recently had a slice of buttercream heaven at a tiny school cafe that took him back to a languid time of warm, blissful summer holidays spent greedily gorging nibbling on Victorian sponge cakes in England. There is some amazing alchemy going on in the oven at this humble joint, run by former business students of Ngee Ann Poly, no kidding. Check out this site www.cupplets.com for some simple but gorgeous custom creations and dessert tables when that special occasion beckons.

Ok, by some bad maybe fluke, the Lion's first cup of Long Black came out all flat and watery but that was swiftly remedied with a much better cup with hints of chocolate. Beans are sourced locally from Common Man Roasters. The blueberry cake? It was just sunshine and rainbows with bits of crunchy cereal between layers. Mmm... ...
