Take me to Casie and Mum's! |
Colonial English vibe. Have fun admiring ornate Straits Chinese carvings and architectural features in the area. |
Atmospheric al fresco dining in the courtyard amidst the lourved windows of conservation pre-war shophouses. |
Highly affectionate fork. |
Casie and Mum's specialises in homemade cakes and muffins. In fact, when the Lions were there, Casie was in a rather harried state (I'm busy baking!), running back and forth to man the ovens and attend to hungry patrons. Casie and Mum's has limited but cosy seating inside the cafe (thank heavens aircon!) but of course the best seats are outside!
Are all these for me?? |
Tangy Apple Cake with Root Beer Float
The apple cake was perfect with a decent amount of sweet apple slices inside still deliciously crunchy.
Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese
Cute Cute liked this as it has lots of nuts inside and you can see the carrots strips. Rather heavy and filling, the cake is best shared among friends. Cuchi found it a litte dry though and the coffee was average. She thought that it would be fabulous if the cafe decide to introduce those cute little three-tiered English tea-time sets with good scones and cucumber sandwiches on the side. It would definitely go really well with the whole vibe of the place.
Despite the rather limited menu, the lions would recommend this place just for the ambience alone.
