Pizza Brunch at the Ground Cafe & Bar

The two lions decided to head down to a new cafe along Tanjong Katong. They were feeling peckish and decided to order some bites as well. The Ground Cafe & Bar features a list of beers (draught Kronenbourg and bottled ones like Rochefort, Linderman's, Westmalle, De Molen, etc), coffee, interesting gourmet teas inspired from desserts (Tiramisu Tea, Chocolate Truffle Mint Tea, Apple Strudel Tea, etc) and quite an extensive menu for such a casual cafe set-up.

The lions were told that the present chef honed his skills in the kitchens of Italian Restaurants so they can expect an above average cafe food experience. Indeed, they were so happily satiated and particularly impressed by the pizzas that they returned on the same day for dinner, bringing along Mr Business Times and his wife. Well, this has never happened before given the lions' restless palates.

Order number comes in the form of a cute wooden
ladle. Long Black was a smooth, medium bodied
pick-me-up with smoky notes.
Cute wooden menus.
The Lions would rather sit indoors to hide from the sweltering heat.
Cuchi's delightfully refreshing
Pink Rose with Marigold Tea.
This is the bee's knees! Meat Lover's Pizza.
This has got to be one of the best cafe pizza!
Putting even some of the ones at Italian restaurants to shame.
What sets it apart is the hand-made dough, made in-house
daily from scratch. Mama Mia!The generous use of crunchy
semolina grains here elevates this humble everyday Italian
dish to a piece de resistance.
Buffalo wings were ordinary though. The lions
were recommended the baby back ribs but were
too stuffed to try and got this instead.

Round Two. Dinner Time! Al Fungi Pizza
was shared among friends and again they waxed lyrical
about the crunchy pizza crust. This pizza was drizzled atop
with fragrant truffle oil. My oh my...

The lions enjoyed themselves thoroughly at Ground Cafe with her good java and impressive cafe bites. It is a wonderful place to bring your friends and family members for brunch.

And lo and behold, when the Italian chef emerged from the kitchen, the lions were extremely surprised to see a familiar face who was formerly behind the kitchen of one of the pioneer indie cafes in Singapore.
