Singapore Sling! (Not the drink)

Date, 11.11.11. Occasion? Non what so ever.... well there's one though! Chef Me's first attempt at cooking in his restaurant, Sling. The lunch was not even planned for but was God led. Was cruising on the road when Chef Me smsed me that he will be cooking for the first time commercially. Being a curious and supportive friend, we decided to give his lunch a Shot.
Sling is located at the junction of Ann Siang Hill and Club Street and it is nested above Shots cafe. Having a swimming pool design, shadows of waves can be seen while dining there. Let's get on with the food shall we. A 3 course meal was served to us starting with the bread basket. Crunchy bread slices were given along with balsamic vinegar, olive oil and butter. Next up was Chef Me's bruschetta which Cuchi loved so much.

Our entree is the scallop on a bed of salad with pesto sauce. Very fresh, the scallop does taste of the sea and it complements the salad which is coated with fragrant olive oil. After that the main course was served. Pan seared salmon with mash potato was up. The salmon was done very well with the natural juices sealed inside. Not too dry but just nice, it goes down very well with the slightly sweetened mash potato. Dessert was Chef Me's specialty, poached apples with ice cream. Done just nice, the apples are soft with hints of cinnamon and cider. The sauce and the ice cream went hand in hand as one is warm and the other cold. Gives your tongue a nice tingling sensation.

A simple but tasty lunch, we were satisfied with the quality and portion of the meal. Thumbs up for Chef Me!! Though he is still young, we know that his cooking skills will definitely improve with time to come.

Specials that you should try: Chef Me's menu is set and different things are available on different days but do try his salmon and cod dishes if available and of course his wagyu beef too!
